Almost Famous Music Business School

In 2008 four people, including music journalists, musicans and music business workers decided to found a music business school in Budapest. It was clear to them that school’s name should come from the film titled Almost Famous – which they all liked very much and the title is a good definition of the music business workers, who are doing their jobs in the background.

While music business studies are available at the universities in the  Western World, music business or just studying music business is not the part of National Curriculum in Hungary. So their mission is to change the Hungarian music scene, therefore they would like to educate music business professionals in Budapest.

Thus the idea of the school was a great and unique challange for them and the results proved their right. Since 2008 the school has had more than 100 students and more than 50% of  their students are now working in the music business. Majdnem Híres has several courses: the main course is Music Business Manager, but they have a course about sponsorship and communication in Music Business and they have educated several music journalist too.

 

Recently Majdnem Híres students are working in several segments of Hungarian music scene: you can meet them at the most important band’s management teams, publisher companies, festivals, etc.

    Márta Judit úgy kezdte el az MHRS könnyűzenei menedzser képzését, hogy minden szerepkörben el tudta magát képzelni, kivéve menedzserként. Ma, a THe pUnch zenekar menedzsereként folyamatosan szervez és intézkedik, miközben hatalmas mosollyal az arcán mesél a zenekarral való munkájáról.   • „Ha már zenekar vagyunk, tegyünk úgy, mintha mi lennénk a Coldplay”

    Balázs Konrád idén fejezte be második képzését a Majdnem Híres Rocksuliban. Zenekara, a Twentees ügyeinek az intézése közben azonban a legtöbb „leckét” a saját bőrén is megtapasztalta már, a tanultaknak köszönhetően pedig egyre tudatosabban tud építkezni zenekarával: a kezdeti visszautasítások után jöttek az „igen” e-mailek, a Boldogság Kht. mellett pedig több daluk is rendszeresen pörög…

  • „Mindig viselkedj úgy, mintha vérprofi lennél”

    Domonkos Lívia nem mindennapi úton csöppent a zeneiparba: tehetségkutatón induló édesanyjának segített elsőként, majd végképp magába szippantotta a zenei világ. Livi szeptemberben kapta kézhez könnyűzenei menedzser bizonyítványát, elsősorban social media vonalon mozog otthonosan, de már dolgozott a VOLT fesztiválon band carként, jelenleg pedig a Jáde Nyúl útjait egyengeti.     „Úgy kezdődött, hogy anyukám énekesnő…
